The 2nd Africa Health Forum kicked off today with key opening remarks from His Excellency Jorge Carlos Fonseca, on the theme “Achieving Universal Health Coverage and Health Security: The Africa We Want to See“. The WHO is promoting dialogues and policy changes that will promote achieving health coverage for everyone, everywhere in Africa. Innovation plays a key role in achieving the goal, and today the WHO Top 30 Innovators were celebrated by WHO Africa’s leadership, prominent NGOs, pharmaceutical industry leaders and several dignitaries from the government of Cabo Verde, led by H.E. Fonseca, President of Cabo Verde.
